I just received a double action Astra Constable (centre of photo below) in .380 ACP. Thanks McCoy!

I haven't shot it yet, just run A Zoom snap caps through it.

It is a blowback pistol but given its weight I don't think it'll be a problem to manage its recoil. It is thin and not much larger than my Beretta 71.

Its DA trigger is heavy at around 15 lbs (heavier than my S&W K frame revolvers. The SA trigger pull is nice, short and light and fairly crisp.

I think that it will give me the "Walther bite" as the underside of the slide touches the web of my shooting hand.

The safety is a decocking lever that drops the hammer safely. It is my first decocker and I find it creepy but you can use it and let the hammer down gently with your thumb which is what I am doing. You have to move the safety/decocker back to fire otherwise everything including the slide is locked. I'm drilling that into my muscle memory with A Zooms.

In a legal CCW situation I would carry it with the chamber loaded, de-cocked and safety off.

The sights are small as would be expected for a 7 metre pistol like this and are adjustable for windage.

I need a grip screw as one is missing plus I am looking for two more magazines for it.

Overall it feels very high quality like my Astra Cub. If I were in the US obviously there are better, smaller choices in .380 ACP.
