I'm thinking of buying one of these locally, seller said it was a copy of a smith model 17. It's in great condition, minimal wear, locks up tight...Can't find very much information on Astra, not to mention the model. Know it was made in Spain, that's about it. Anyone have any experience with these revolvers? Would it be worth buying? Thanks.

I owned one of these years ago.It was an nice little gun, well made and finished. Its not really a copy of the model 17 but still be worth buying if it's a good price.Parts are pretty impossible to find but it being a 22 you wouldn't expect too much to break on it.ive also owned llamas and stars over the years, and of all the Spanish guns, I thought the Astras were the best quality.

Thanks. It is a decent price compared to what other .22 revolvers are going for, I may have to grab it.

The Astra revolvers had a good reputation for quality. Since you say that the one you can buy is
in good condition & locks up tight, it is probably a good revolver to buy if the price is right.
Just remember , as mentioned already , that parts are hard to near impossible to find if
something breaks. Also, if you decide to sell at a later date then the resale value will not be high.

Never owned one of these, but have had only good experiences from Astra's.
