At great .223 loads?

I understand that a great reload is based upon many variable ie components, seating into the lands etc

I have Hornady 50g vmax's

I also have varget, IMR 4064 and win 760.
Anyone have load data for any of these with the bullet I am reloading? These will just be for gophers

Although I found the 55 gr. V-Max not too bad in my own Axis (1 inch groups at 100 yards) I'm getting 5/8 inch groups with 53 gr. Sierra or Hornaday match using 20 gr. H4198. 19 gr. of Reloader 7, is showing the same promise with those same bullets.

Of course, that is what works in my rifle, yours may differ.
 
I just re-read your original post. The V-max is a great bullet for your needs, the powders you have on hand, not so much. You may want to consider powders such as Win748, IMR4895 etc. If you are going to throw lead downrange, you may as well try and get your money's worth. 4064 and 760 are not exactly optimal. Varget is the best of what you have on hand.

Don't ask...... Just buy.....

Easier to get forgivness than permission IMHO :D

If all else fails play the safety card. "well sweetie the powders I had were not considered correct for this calibre. You know what happens when you use the wrong powder? (insert picture of a KB) You want me to be safe, don't you?"

While the above statement is not 'a lie' it is not neccisarily 'not true' either.....
