I'm going to apply for a new ATC.

I have gotten ATC's before in BC for my .357 magnum and .454 Casull.

I would like to add my GLOCK17 in 9mm (for winter carry when the bears are sleeping but the cougars aren't) and my SW model 12 snubby for the same reason.

My rational to the CFC will be that both these lighter weapons are easier to carry than either the .357 or .454.

Has anyone gotten a Wilderness ATC with weapons this light accepted in recent years?

I'd like to have these additional handguns on my ATC so that my carry options are flexible and can better suit the requirements of the varied terrains, climates and pack loads that I may be faced with.

An incidental benefit might arise should disaster strike and the Lieberals get re-elected. Handguns on an ATC would be VERY difficult to confiscate.

Hahha a 9mm for wilderness defence...I like 9s alot but maybe you might something with abit more kick? I think you will find that if there is a ban...it will be a real challenge to keep whatever you have...even with the permits you have.

I know one guy in the YT that had his SP101 in 9mm on his atc, but that was a few years ago (2001?), before it got centralized to the Edmonton office.

I'm doing the employer endorsements for the guys in my office right now, and everybody is putting all their pistols on the application this go-around.

I have a 9mm Glock 17 on my permit. I actually carry it from time to time in the winter. I think 10 rounds of 147 grn +P Gold Dots are just about right for any over-hungry timber wolves I may stumble across.

I never took winter carry all that seriously until the dude got eaten by wolves in Northern Saskatchewan this year.
