This has probably been posted before, so excuse me if it has.

Looking at the ATF's website, it looks like they have reimposed the AWB restictions for F6NIA temporary import permits, which were lifted a few years ago after the AWB repeal. This is obviously bad news for people who have gotten used to travelling south to shoot in tactical rifle matches.

Q33. Are there any restrictions on the types of guns I can bring into the United States for hunting or for a shooting competition?

A. Yes. You may not bring in semiautomatic assault weapons unless they previously were in the United States on or before September 13, 1994; large capacity ammunition feeding devices (which generally include magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition) made after September 13, 1994; unregistered National Firearms Act weapons (which include machineguns, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, and silencers); U.S. government origin firearms or firearms that contain U.S. government origin manufactured parts or components; and firearms from certain proscribed countries. If you think the items you wish to import may be affected by these restrictions, please contact the Firearms and Explosives Imports Branch.

That FAQ was done 8/31/06. 3 years out of date.

I've had a Form6 NIA since and to including 2 1/2 months ago, and just reapplied. That AWB is gone.

I just renewed my form 6 with newly added AR rifles on it for the first time.

Renewed in under 2 weeks ( including mailing ) and I have went across the border twice with them in the last month. and No issues.

I dont think the ATF would approve your form 6, if it did not match their criteria.

That part on the Form 6 form comes back all crossed out when it gets faxed back.

Yup... Big red X's

Of course who knows... The day may come when we won't be welcome to shoot in the USA at all...:(

That'll be the day I'll have to get a prozac prescription as it's sure to send me into a deep depression :( :(

With all the BS restrictions placed on us by the CFO and even by our own clubs, shooting in the US is a refreshing break. :)

First 3-gun of my season is next Sat. in MI... 'Can't wait :) :)
