ATI Forestock on Mossberg 500

Anybody run into issues installing one? I stripped the gun, then came to an instruction to use "the enclosed T wrench to remove the front nut etc to remove original forestock" - no such thing on my gun that I can see. Old forestock just slid right off over magazine cap when I released the action bars in the receiver. I can't figure out how to proceed, so will take to gunsmith to finish.

Can you see the threads where it used to be? All the Mossberg 500's I've taken apart had one. I also had to "trim" the forends to get them back on. They were super tight, plastic and wood.
