ATI Heat Shield?

Howdy folks,

Hope you are all having a good Christmas eve. Anyone out there have the ATI Heat Shield that can "Simply slide over barrel and secure with supplied hardware." Does it install that easily? How long is it? Would it get in the way of a bead sight? I am thinking of one for my DA Grizzly.

I actually just put one on my 870 Tactical about 3 weeks ago. Measuring my heatshield, it's a little less than 13 3/4 inches long. To install it, the barrel had to be removed, the rear tabs on the heatshield had to be bent to conform with the shape of the barrel, then the barrel re-installed, and the front clamp had to be tightened up and secured with a couple of screws and nuts. I don't know if it would interfere with a bead sight though, as my 870 is the ghost ring sights model.

Thanks for the reply, sounds like it's too long for my barrel right now, as I have the 12.5'' model. I wonder if you can get a shorter heat shield.

We stock them HERE, but they are too long for the 12.5 barrels.
