I've read many negative things about this lower. I'm buying a Colt upper that comes with this lower. Anyone have any positive experiences with the gen 2 Omni hybrid?
I've read the online reviews but I'd like to hear from some actual owners.

Apparently the O'Dell's version is a mildly different beast than the Gen 1 and Gen2.

I never knew that. Something was written in the CC forum but the thread has been cleaned up and its gone.
I guess I will find out for myself. I imagine O'Dell's had done some testing before offering them up for sale.

They have horrible reviews, use Google. There was also a thread about this IUR package started by shill account pretending to be a customer that's now vanished.

I am trying to figure out if i'm going to buy the upper and a separate lower and bcg or just go with the complete rifle with the hybrid lower... i'm a little suspect of any polymer lower to be honest so that is holding me back a bit. would love to hear some feedback. and also what bcg are going in these?

All they said was "quality". Really, for $300 you are getting the complete lower, and the bolt carrier group. That is like $100 - $150 for the complete lower.

That being said. I just got the upper.

Calabrese magazine had a review of a at with the omni lower and overall actually liked it. Read it last night actually. The problem is that it's new and many people don't like new and many will just bash it use because they can. If in dead the new ones here on the colt are improved over the previous ones then we should have a look. Worst case, as people said it's cheep price to add to the upper to have a rifle that shoots then can upgrade later if you so wish,

Dont bother.

Google broken polymer lowers.

If a polymer lower continually needs to be reinforced, then why not just buy an actual proven lower from a reputable company.

Comparing a plastic lower to say, a Glock is not the same.

For less than $300 with the IOP it is cheap. If It turns out to be junk then I'll replace it. I would be buying a Colt lower eventually regardless. Whats another $300 at this stage of the game anyway.

Since this may be a different lower than the gen 2 and it is not the gen 1 that broke, google isn't helping.
Hence the reason I wanted some actual owners here on CGN to voice their opinion.

I have the Gen2 Lower. Or maybe I do. I don't know. It might be the O'Dell version because that's what the gun store was looking at when he showed it to me. Mine is still not put together and I don't have an upper for it. I have a LPK without the trigger and just trying to get it put together. I think i'll get one of the norc uppers from Canada Ammo and see how it is. I've never owned or even shot an AR 15 before so it will be my first one. I reserve judgement.

'ill get some pics of my gun later. but its the best lower I have had yet. fits every magazine including the thermould an Cmag. its also the only lower I have ever had that I didn't need to add an accu-wedge to. its fits tighter then any metal on metal set up. i'll post a pic of my gun later today.

also I know odell is releasing an Omni with the new colt Canada upper package at a local shop. pretty sweet and nun of the bull crap jacked up US pricing.
