ATI Strikeforce Scorpion Stock for Mini-14

I purchased an ATI Strikeforce Scorpion stock from Cabelas on tuesday. It arrived yesterday, Friday and I was anxious to get home and drop my mini-14 into it. ATI's claim on their website was that their stock does not have the issue of play in the adjustable stock main tube once assembled. Well that claim is not so. Though it feels like a snug fit in the bushing there is a bit of play that equates to 1/2"-3/4" of vertical play once the cheek piece and butt pad are extended. Shortened as short as it can go still allows for 1/4"!of vertical movement. I don't know about you folks but grabbing the pistol grip, putting my cheek on the comb and being able to raise and lower my muzzle up and down 3/4" with ease with my forward hand is not inspiring of how a rifle should be. For $180 of plastic you'd think they would have come up with something much more solid. Oh well she has been dismantled, repackaged and will be heading back to Cabelas monday with #11(unhappy with quality) checked off for reason of return.
