These matches were held at the NSRA Bull Meadow 800m range 5, 6, 7 Sep. Dana Giles looked after lunches, Erin Schurman-Kolb stats and Chair Bill Giles did a great job organizing the event especially in the hiring butts officer and markers, and RO. Lt(N) Jeff Jenkins Retired, arranged a widely appreciated banquet at Royal Artillery Park at which Bill had a few comments, awarded trophies and announced the Atlantic Team for the following day.

NSRA President Andrew Webber must be mentioned for making this range possible and he even mows the grass! The Board as a whole deserve recognition for considerable work in all aspects of making the range a reality.

Thanks for the post Peter.
Any chance anyone happened to take some pics they could share???
Would love to see Bull Meadow even if just a pic.....
Thanks

I only got a few pictures this time, I had more at the APM last month.

Peter, I think those F-class results are missing the results of the last match.
I have picture of the last updated results.

HPS was 550, not 600. We had to cut the last 2 afternoon matches to 2&10 instead of 2&15 due to needing time to get to the dinner.

This range is 7 targets wide, so we can usually run 21 shooters per relay, 42 on 2 relays. We're extremely lucky to have this in NS, its too bad we don't have more competitors/shooters coming out to the matches. The APM and Atlantics usually bring 20-30+shooters, but a lot of the weekend matches are a dozen or so. There are other disciplines as well, precision rifle, service rifle, and handgun/small bore ranges as well. I should take pictures of them sometime.
So for those reading these threads thinking of trying it out, please do, clubs all across the country need you!
I never was much of a competitive type guy, but I can say this is a lot of fun and in the end its about having fun shooting and learning more, improving our skills, equipment over time and this it the type of place to do it.
It was Peter Dobson that first brought me to this range for a smallbore match 3yrs ago and I joined soon after. Big thanks to him and Hirsch Precision for supporting the shooting community!

Regarding TR and F-class as we shoot together, we're using the 1/2 size V for F-class, scoring at the target is as indicated for F-class and on the line we're adding 1 point for TR shooters. Works great.

Hopefully the other guys don't mind if I include a team picture of the Mini-Palma vs the US shooters from New-England area, a really great group of shooters. They seemed to enjoy their trip and we look forward to visiting them in the US next year, I hope to be able to make it anyhow.

Left to right standing: Matt Wolf NB, Sonny Desrosiers NS, Ray Smeltzer NS, Mike Lutes NB, Barry Langille NS, Johnnie Marshall(84!) NS, Marcel Kolb NS, Robert Smith NL, Paul Bastarache NB, Adam Macdonald NB, Michelle Cormier NB, Bill Giles NS, Jefery Jenkins NS,

Front kneeling Ian Hogg PEI, Ron Surette NB.

These shooters have interesting backgrounds: Marcel was on the Swiss National Shooting Team and is farm manager for Pete's Frootique and is a vinter. Ron Surette won 5 Queen's Medals SR. Ian Hogg has been Canadian TR champ, just won at least one match at Camp Perry and has been on Palma and Bisley teams. Ray Smeltzer has won Provincial Championships and was top Canadian at Bisley one year. Mike Lutes has been on Palma and Bisley Teams and does a lot for shooting with the RNBRA. A book could be written on Johnnie Marshall who has been on numerous Bisley Teams and a winning Palma team and is the oldest shooter to make the second stage at Bilsey. He has been an NSRA member for 40+ years and says he will go FClass when he gets old - he also builds very accurate rifles. Robert Smith told me years ago he bought a TR rifle and went to National Matches at Connaught for his first match ever! Adam Macdonald, engineer, has converted a light-reading chronograph to read acoustically! Bill Gilesex RN and CRN shot competitively with the NSRA GB and is our FB Chair. Jeff Jenkins follows in his Welsh father's footsteps as a TR shooter who was on RN team and many Bisley teams. Barry Langille has won many provincial titles and has been on Bisley teams as well as Palma. Michelle Cormier does a lot for shooting and has been on many Inter-Maritime Teams.
Paul Bastarache just won the FClass Atlantic Chamionships and is a fine sport who co-runs a range near Moncton. Too bad he doesn't own a jacket and tie! Matt Wolf is with the popular Star Shooter Team and is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the shooting world. Sonny Desrosiers has won .22 BR matches and has shot FClass, then last weekend tried TR and made the big team! He is a top machinist and his mother, Denise, can really cook.

As you can see there is much to be proud of and you can't imagine a finer and more interesting group of shooters.

Best regards,

Peter

Thanks for the pics and write up.
Great looking bunch of people and range! (except maybe that Wolf character, just something "different" about him:) )
Recognized a few faces from Hottawa events.
Hopefully this encourages shooters who haven't tried this, to come out and have some fun.
Lots of experience there to draw some assistance from.
Regards
