Does anyone have one of these on there T3? I am referring to the factory replacement that takes standard T3 mags. Have the following questions:

1. Weight? I am building a LW setup so I don't want heavy/thick parts
2. Pros/Cons? Does it work well? Any modifications required?
3. Pics?

Thanks

Patrick

It's very light... I needed slight material removal in my Robertson composite stock. It's more square and doesn't quite contour the mag as well as the factory polymer one. I have not had any issues with mine , the mag release feels a little weaker than factory. I bought the atlasworx one direct from Australia. Better prices than anyone in Canada, no tax or border fee. Shipped fast as well.

I've got them on 2/3 Tikkas.

I don't like them.

1) they're heavy as balls. Ugly, too.

2) the finish is crap. Like fingernails on a chalkboard, and mags won't drop free. I had to smooth the finish with 600 grit inside the mag well, and on all touchable surfaces.

3) you'll need to dremel to make it fit.

4) sharp mag release. Like a razor. It'll chop up your mags. You need to carefully round it off with sandpaper.

I wanted to invoice the shop that made the things for the work I had to do finishing their product. Don't know why they didn't.

I use them because the Boyd's tikka inlet is crap, and the Tikka trigger guard needs to be supported all around to avoid flexing.

If you're switching to a Boyds stock (I just like wood), then you need them. Otherwise, keep the plastic fantastic!

IL agree the mag release is very sharp. I never had an issue with the plastic one, just wanted to try the metal. I was a bit disappointed but got used to it.

Yeah, I'm not looking to add much weight over the factory BM so may just stay with what I have. My build is a Tikka compact 308 sitting a McMillan Edge so a big clunky trigger guard is not appealing. If they are finished poorly that's another drawback as well. There is a dealer locally that sells them but they don't have a storefront that I can visit and inspect, also no refunds and/or exchanges. Thanks for the feedback fellas,

Patrick
