Complete ATRS build.

ATRS Gen 3 Lower
ATRS Billet Upper
ATRS Match 14.5" bbl
Daniel Defense 12" lite rail
Ergo Grip
Magpul CTR
Magpul BUIS
Magpul ASAP Plate
Timney Trigger

Chose my own serial # for the build.

A few of the nice things about this Gen 3 from ATRS:
All the parts that fly out normally when you want to change grips or the rear plate are captured. You can switch stuff arounf without having to worry.
Also the safety uses a ball bearing type plunger, so its much smoother to operate, you can still have it set high to prevent it from coming off safe easy.

Have not had a chance to get it out to the range yet but I think it will do just fine.
Not sure what to do for optics????

Opinions????

Carbine length, most of the Ar's I have are carbine and I've had no issues with them.
If I do another I might do a mid, just to have something different.

Thinking and Trijicon Accupoint 1-4 for the scope, not sure yet. I have an ACOG and an Eotech already, looking for something different.

For optics, consider the Vortex PST 1-4 with the ADR cantilever mount ;)

Rifle looks good, except it needs to see some use :D To clean and not enough scratches on it LOL

Nice build, here's some constructive criticism.

1) The Magpul MBUS look out of place on an otherwise high-end build. Consider changing them for something better like an Optic (Aimpoint, Eotech, Trigicon Accupoint or ACOG, etc.) backed up by Troy sights or something else that's not plastic.

2) Not sure what brand of LPK you used, but the right side selector witness mark is scribed sloppily (crooked) and the button for the mag release appears to be purple. If it were my rig, I'd swap those parts out for something more presentable.

3) There seems little point in having a magpul ASAP and then adding a rail-mounted front sling hook - the whole point behind the ASAP is for a single-point sling.

4) I'm not a fan of the ergo grip. If you have tried other grips and like this one, then by all means keep it, but if not, consider a magpul MIAD and try the different combinations of that grip to settle on something more comfortable than the ergo-grip.

5) That setup would be b@-@ss with ambi controls (mag release and selector) for weak hand drills.

Nice simple clean build,NO extra GAAACK. just screaming for an Aimpoint comp4. You won't be disapointed when you shoot it...Rick builds some smooth shootin AR's

.

Front sling point is so you can convert your MS2 sling to 2 point. That way you can stow your rifle behind, freeing up your hands.

The "fat" Ergo grip is my current favorite as well. Puts my control hand in a better position with the pad of my finger on the trigger.

The Trijicon has one of the best 1x settings of all the 1-4x scopes out there IMHO.

If you mostly shoot at shorter ranges/CQB stuff and occasionally at 2-300 then the Trijicon 1-4 would be a good choice. Any further then you might want more magnification, and a reticle with some additional aiming points/range marks. Something like a NF 2.5-10 NP R1 or R2. You could also add a small dot sight at 2 O'clock for short range stuff. This is what most of the cool kids seem to be doing nowadays.
