ATRS AT-15 pistol magazine: how to remove the base plate?

Probably should have looked into this before buying them but is the base plate removable? And if so, which Magpul ranger plates fit this magazine?

ATRS says that their mags aren't meant to be disassembled. Just wash them out. The springs are stainless so shouldn't rust.

There was a thread a while back asking the same thing...
Drill a shallow hole in the base - like .1" deep. Too far, and you'll punch through the follower too (you don't want to drill through the follower).
Once the hole is in the base, you can depress the follower enough to slide the base off and dissasemble the mag.

I'm not sure why the concern of making them 20 round mags - to do that you'd have to permanently modify the follower, thereby making a prohibited device, opening up the user to the same charges as if they did it to any other magazine.

I just slid a knife in the back and pushed the follower up a bit and the baseplate slid right off. No drilling holes and nobody would ever know you took it off. Curiosity got the best of me when they said they weren't meant to be removed

Has anyone ever tried putting a Magpul Ranger Plate on one of these? Do you think one could be modified to fit and if so, which model?
