Att For New Pistol

Last weekend I picked up a S&W mod39-2 9mm at the truro gun show. CFO gave me a temp ATT to get the gun home , I usually wait for all the paper work to come in (updated ATT,and new certificate) before I take a newly purchased pistol to the range. but I am wondering if it is possible to get a temp ATT to take it to the range before the paperwork arrives? anyone ever tried this? ps I'm in NS

what does your current ATT say?

mine says any gun I have the reg card for. I don't need a new ATT if I buy a new gun.

but some will list each gun.

If you've bought pistols before, your ATT should cover any consecutive purchases. I'm in BC though, that part may be different for you guys out east.

logik1 & scott I'm in NS and our att permits list each pistol. It seems like a waste of paper to me. I wish is was for any firearms you own like yours is.
