ATT to bring pistols to Canada

Hi guys,
I think, I am going to have some visitors coming to shoot some Level III matches here in Ontario this summer.
I need a link with info about getting pistols and magazines and ammo to Canada. Where can I find it?

I dont know now. When my buddy came down for a IPSC match few years ago, All he need was a Match copy, Trigger lock, Gun case with lock, pinned mags, amo in the case and declare the firearms @ Custom. That was then.
 
If you are a non-resident and are using a Non-Resident Firearm Declaration to bring a restricted firearm to Canada for an approved purpose such as target shooting, you will need to apply for an ATT by phone when you reach your point of entry. All of the CFO offices can generally be accessed from 9.a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, in all Canadian time zones, by calling 1 800 731-4000 (Canada and the U.S.) or 1 506 624-5380 (outside Canada and the U.S.) Keep these hours in mind when making your travel arrangements.

If you will be arriving outside of the CFO’s regular weekday office hours, you may wish to contact the applicable CFO in advance to see if you can make other arrangements for obtaining an ATT.

pretty well, my friend can call CFO from his location or when he arrives in Canada?
Is that correct?
 
Yes, your friend can call the CFO prior to arriving and "try" to get his ATT faxed to his home before he arrives. The CFO's will pre-issue it in some circumstances. But in general your friend is supposed to call them when he arrives at the airport/land border.
The problem here is if he arrives outside of the CFO's working hours, Then he will have to leave the pistols at the border and come back the next day during CFO work hours to call about the ATT
 
i would suggest your friend phone the CFO a week or two in advance and get his ATT lined up then. i had a friend try for three days to do the i am here can i get an ATT with no success. i am pretty sure that if you supply them with arrival data and match invitation they will issue in advance.
