Sorry, tried Googling but didn't find what I needed. I have an existing RPAL and a new AR-15 on the way. Under C-42 what exactly has changed, especially with regards to the ATT? Does my RPAL now automatically have an ATT attached to it? Seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there...

I phoned CFC for an STATT to transport a handgun from post office to home. Was told that it was not needed as of Sept 1, 2015. Not sure about out of province without specific STATT. The RCMP website indicates that implementation for c42 would take a few months from the June 18, 2015.

Yes, I should have clarified. I already have a handgun and an ATT for it. I guess I will phone the CFC to be safe. I just hate waiting on hold and their lines have been very busy the last couple of times I've had to call.

You're in BC, your ATT is good for all restricted firearms that you have a cert for. CFC currently regards C42 as the law of the land (as it is) so your ATT is now part of your RPAL, they have not been informed of any change or pending change to the law. You can bring a firearm to the range, gunsmith, blah, blah as if you were under your current ATT without carrying the paper, you do still need the reg cert for regular shooting though.

Yes after buying a new restricted they will send you a new rpal with new updated conditions in the mail
Depends where you are I think. I was on the phone with the Alberta CFO's office today inquiring about a STATT to pick up from the post office and they told me they weren't issuing new cards, the att is simply attached to my licence in their system.

Yep, I've bought restricteds since the ATT provisions of C42 came into force and no new RPAL cards are being issued here in NB. Here (as i understand it) the authorization to transport is now considered to be included in the "standard conditions"

There are several threads on CGN about the standard conditions that attach to RPALs with respect to transporting restricted firearms - perhaps check around the forum first. To be extra-careful, you could call the CFC to confirm that the transport conditions are attached to your specific license - this was supposed to be done for all current "paper ATT" holders automagically.

This is the RCMP summary of it.
Although not the actual C42 law, this time the info is correct.

In your case, Q14 is relevant.
