Hey guys, quick question today

What brands are you guys using for 12ga slugs WITH an attached wad?
-and where are you buying them if they're an odd brand?

How do you find they perform in smooth and rifled bore guns?

Thanks in advance guys.

Brenneke are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head but they are exceedingly rare in Canada. I've only heard myth and legend of people finding them on rare occasions. All the big US brands only make foster slugs and sabot slugs to my knowledge. You can find Dominion Arms round ball loads in bulk some places as well (they call them slugs but they aren't really slugs).

I load my own for ~$.40/shot with my own cast slugs and can shoot 4-6" groups at 50yds out of a smooth bore with just a bead. Can't get them to work worth a damn in a rifled barrel.

Check out Lightfield slugs if you are looking for the wad to stay attached. They are supposed to be very accurate and hard hitting but do sacrifice a bit in the flat trajectory department. Please post some results if you go this route.

Most definitely can post results once I find some of them.

Thank you for a direction guys. Hoping more come forward with different brands.

Unfortunately I live in a pretty small and already pretty full apartment in the city. So casting isnt an option, nor is reloading due to funds for equipment at this current moment.

AmmoSupply (sponsor) has Score slugs by the case. Canadian-made and reasonably priced. I got the 1 oz slugs. $219 for a case of 250 rounds and the website shows 9 cases in stock.

They're an attached wad slug (you made me curious, so I cut one open)
I'm using them in my HP9 (14" barrel) with ghost-ring sights and can get 5-round groups that I can cover with the palm of my hand at 50 meters.

Excellent! Thank you very much

That's the kind of result I'm looking to get

I have a 26" VR, so Id only assume similar if not better results.

Although...I wonder if smaller boxes can be bought

I think you can buy them in boxes of 25 rounds.
Check their website.

Just checked for you..................they have lots of different slugs available.
Deal with them with confidence, one of the best ammo suppliers that we have and great customer service.

Challenger slugs are hard cast Gualandi type slug with an attached wad that can also be found at ammosupply.ca and Cabelas.
(picture of a deer on the box)

I find the Score slugs to be a little more accurate than them.

I totally agree.

Score slugs have the base attached by friction only, they are easily removed. The base is counted as part of the advertised weight as well so the 1 1/8oz are actually only one ounce of lead.

That doesn't phase me too much, although good to know.
Most slugs I've found are 1oz anyhoo and people seem to fill their tags.

Do you know of any where the wads are bonded in some form?
