I sincerely hope it is all a bunch of crap but given the current climate in Ontario, the Liberals are certainly the bastards to capitalize on this fear of handguns and gun violence.

Actually I am not worried about the sport as much as I am worried about my babies. Who will take care of them make sure they are not cold at night and clean them once a month....:D

But seriously it is time to stand up to the liberals. This is the time to make our voices heard.

I honestly don’t think there is anything we can do to stop this. If the liberals get in they will ban our handguns and we have no property rights in this country, no right to bear arms, and little chance to get a Conservative minority, which will most likely be toppled in a year anyways. The odds are stacked so far against us that all the time and energy we put into this issue will be in vain. I was going to go get my restricted license, but now why bother if I can’t shoot hand guns, why bother living in a country that is so centralized, and biased to the eastern ideology? Cant the West separate? I don’t like being Canadian anymore. I don’t like our politics our politicians are self interested and Canadians like to be treated like dirt. I don’t like the way I am treated in this country. Criminals run our country now and it’s high time we break up this country. If quebec wants to leave, we should too.:mad:
 
it's that kind of defeatist attitude that keeps getting the liberals elected- if we all showed up on election day, we CAN make a difference- the next election is the western seperation one
 
Hi, I'm a new member as of about 5 minutes ago and I wanted to wish you all the best of luck fighting this handgun ban. I'm not Canadian, I live about 20 miles south of Seattle, but I hate to see ANYONE lose their right and ability to defend themselves or their families. Anyway, you have a great site here and, once again, good luck.

Thanks Kimber45. We have been made to feel like strangers in our own country and it's good to hear from friends who don't take freedom and security for granted.

You're welcome. I would hate to live under the gun laws you folks already have to put up with and to read where the libs are trying to make it even worse is sickening. Sadly, there are plenty of people on both sides of our border who can't wait to give up their rights, as in San Francisco, where they just voted to ban handgun inside the city limits. These idiots can't seem to take their eyes off of their mythical "Utopian Society" long enough to learn just happens when these kinds of laws are passed. You Canadians have a country that I have a lot of admiration for and if you could just get a handle on the Gov. it would only make it that much better. Good luck!

Ya I am defeatists, I have lost hope in our political system. I have lost hope in my rights being defended. I have lost hope of ever owning a Hand Gun.

I'm still going to vote but I dout it will do anything to prevent this ban from happening. we need a western party like Quebec has the bloc then we could bend the ear of the federal gov't. Oh wait there arn't enough seats to do that so we are not going to get anywhere.

Notice how urban Ontario always seems to make or break the election? I remember a few years ago the Liberals won the election before BC even got to vote, hows that for even elections?

Remember this, we are governened by a socialist government. Soon gun owners will all be criminals. Why? I doubt anyof us will be handing our guns in. One more thing. Do you really think the police are going to want to deal with this? They have enough on ther plate. Unless of course The government hires a special police force all dress in leather, coming after us.

This thread is headed south but...
I believe you are right FS, esp. if the libs get back in I think we will see a huge west sep. movement. All we would need a strong willed, likable (L.Bouchard type) to start a movement. This idea has been beaten up on this site before but I think we'll see a lot of talk about western sep. in the next few months
 
JONKZ you are not a defeatist , you are a realist and a patriot to a country that is long over due .
FS your dead on to , I can't believe the bloc hasn't tried running in the west .
Personally I think they would get a lot of votes , they don't want us , and a lot of us definately are sick of them .
Time for the the west to hit the reset button before it's to late .

While I agree with your secessionist viewpoints, you NEED to join us and FIGHT now! Even if Alberta/BC decide to "opt out" of the ban - We must still fight for our Eastern brethren. If you are willing to sit back and watch yours (and others) rights be pissed away, you NEED to find somewhere else to hang out. We are in this together. Your letters mean something - as do your votes and volunteer time. Get out there and fight. MOLON LABE!

Thanks for your support Kimber 45, Unfortuneately our gun laws have been getting stricter, to the point where the priviledge (unlike the US where it is right to bear arms under the constitution) to own guns is hanging by a thread. Living in Quebec, I hope the people here pass voting Bloc Quebecois, who encourage seperation from CANADA and vote Conservative in a united front to rid us from this Liberal government.
