In southern Ontario you can buy doe tags over the counter and extra gun tags in some wmu's.

Uh what wmu's might you be referring to? Don't think antlerless tags have ever been available " over the counter" and most of the additional either ### tag wmu's have dried up in the past years due to the last 2 harsh winters.

79 and 87. One bow and one gun at 87 and two of each at 79.

There may be additional tag allotment for 87 used to hunt there but it was only bow a few year ago. 79 not sure about.
Just want to make it clear even in southwestern Ont. Antlerless permits do not fall off trees. Chances are good to get one if you apply but not a guarantee.

We've seen lots of deer in 56 and we've been 2 for 2 over the last couple of years, so we're hoping the trend continues. I just hope we get better weather than we did last year. Most of the 2 weeks were either rained or snowed out.

There is one additional bow tag in 87 and one additional gun tag available in 87 for total of 3 if you are successful in the draw. 79 has two additional bow tags and two additional gun tags for a total of 5 if you apply and are successful in 79. Tags are available for gun October 15 and additional bow tags are available if they are not sold out for 79 and 87. Have to actually read the regulations and not make blank statements. I could buy up to 5 tags in those wmu's I hunt. Only buying one bow and one additional. FYI there are 678 bow doe tags in 87 and 146 doe tags available right now in 79 available over the counter...

Only a few more days now! I'm not expecting a doe tag this year. Only 25% got them in 46 last year and there are the same amount of tags this year.

I am in the same boat as you in 46. 3 of us entered the draw, and 1 got a doe license. I hope our luck holds for this fall. Less then 24 hours until the draw results are up!

My license arrived in the mail today. No doe tag attached (applied for 55A & 78A). Not that I really care, for me shooting a doe is a last chance decision. I'm OK with going venison-less thinking any doe I let pass will hopefully survive the winter to add additional targets in the future.

All of you deer hunter. I hate you. Actually I mean I'm jealous. I'm gone away for the entire hunt this year. Oh well. At least I'm home for ducks and geese.

Deer is open now on Haida Gwaii man I'm glad I live on the West coast
