In our hunt camp I volunteered a few years ago to buy and prepare all the food for the whole group (4-6 guys). All the other guys have to provide their own mix, any snack they'd like to have, and stuff they want in their own packs. I usually sit down a few weeks before we leave and plan out a whole menu for the week and buy accordingly.

Anyone else do this for their camp? What's your menu consist of? Favourites among the guys? I'm looking for new ideas.

One of the traditions that we have is that each guy brings one main course and one dessert. Examples would be: main course: cabbage rolls, lasagna, chilli, perogies. desserts: apple pie, brownies; apple cobbler. That way it is just a matter of heat and serve rather than cooking a roast and having someone lose time in the bush. We do however bring in a roast of beef, roast of venison (from last year assuming we get one), steaks, pork chops to fill out the menu.
