...tell me how your .22 lever is for accuracy. I am interested in carrying for grouse and would like to make 15-25 yard headshots [say quarter sized groups] consistently with open sights. Is this possible with your rifles preferred ammo if you do your part?
My scoped HB'ed 597 currently does the job but I am looking for something more comfortable and elegant to carry afield. Not interested in any other info on the rifle other than how accurately it shoots. ;)

Thx. in advance,
Mike :)

Mine is pretty damn impressive, you can put 10 shots into a pop can at 100 with the irons so im sure head shots at 25 wouldnt be an issue. i know its not a prob with gophers anyways.

What are you using for ammo?

I need to spend a bit more time with my Henry, but it's plenty accurate at 25 yards. Not so sure at 100, but that's next to try out. :)

I have a Henry Pump .22 and I love it. It is minute of gopher at 100 and reliable.

I never really took this rifle seriously. I put a scope on it to lend it to a firend, but never really rried it myself.

Then the scope on my 17hmr bit the dust and I picked this thing up.

It does a good job of challenging the belief that you need alot of bells and whistles to be accurate. Surprised the hell out of me.

I know you are looking for info on the levers, but I think this is valid intel because they are very similar guns, and the breach and barrel are the same.

I just ordered a lever .22wmr. Have been wanting one for a while too!

Interesting...I'll check out the specs. on the pump.

Does anyone know if these Henry levers are tough to source in canada right now or are they carried by alot of dealers?. I'm thinking of picking up a basic blued model...maybe the youth.

 That's decent shooting on your part as well as the rifles...sounds plenty accurate for my needs.

I really love my Henry. Very accurate with open sights and a snap to strip down and clean.

I have a henry youth .22lr, fullsize .22lr, and my wife just bought me an octagonal barrel pump .22lr. love them all, but I think the pump is the winner right now, cause you can dump almost half a box of shorts in it at a time, and the sights on it (as well as the oct lever) are better than the regular models.

I use winchester 40grain power points, they work well in all my rimfires. Most dealers seem to carry them i bought mine at the gun shop in stettler alberta i cant think of the name but they treated me very good.

Thanks to all who replied to this post and bullied me into buying a Henry :p
When I called around I was AMAZED that wholesale sports in Kamloops had nearly the entire line of Henry levers in .22 in stock!!! 2 hrs of driving later I was handling the various models [ good advice from Cyclone;)] and settled on the carbine...although the frontier model with the marbles sight nearly followed me home. I bought a box of Remington .22 target and on my way home I headed up a logging road for a test run. Cycles butter smooth, feeds and extracts like a champ and surprise surprise...the trigger breaks pretty clean at around 5lbs. Quite an impressive trigger as well as decent fit and finish for the price paid,I am definitely satisfied so far. The only caveat is the stock sights. I find the front post way too chunky. Can anyone tell me if they have put an aftermarket sight on thier Henry or if I am able to order the Marbles sight and use it on this rifle?

Target was set at 25 yds. Top group was shot off-hand, Bottom was shot in the kneeling position. Definitely good enough accuracy for chickens.

My .22 WMR lever arrived in the mail today.

The wood looks very nice and the checkering is nice and coarse. The trigger is funny though. Lots of creep, but its super light. Its like a really good revolver! I will have to see about fixing that as I really like how there is a little take up and then a clean light but definite breaking point on my pump.

I have to find a means of getting to the range now! I picked up some neat looking ammo for it. 30gr Vmax! Same little red tips as in 17hmr, but bigger!

Which model did you get BabySeal?. I was pleasantly surprised with my trigger for a rifle at that price-point.

I recently bought the Frontier model, and it is dead accurate! 10 shot group w/ CCI CB shorts the size of a penny- from offhand! 3 shot group Remington Sub-Sonic, all touching.
mine shot about 3 inches left to begin with, but now its bullseye every time. Pay the extra money and get the frontier model, its got better sights and is a sight better to look at. It's $ 445 at lebaron in ottawa. Great rifle.
