Do I need an ATT if I'm going to a buddy's range (with him present) and don't have an ATT myself (or a membership to a club.. darn waitlists)? I haven't had a restricted rifle since before the laws changed in 2015 so sorry for the noob question.

I am not clear if you own a restricted firearm or not...

If you do own a restricted rifle and want to go to a club that you don't belong to, you would need an "invitation" if memory servers, but that is if you have your own ATT attached to your license. Your best bet is to call your CFO's office. Internet advice is worth what you paid for it.

If you DO have a restricted firearm, and you DO have an ATT for it attached to your license...then it's dependent on the rules of your friends range if you can just join him as a guest.

If you DON'T have the above firearm or ATT, just call your CFO and get squared away, they can also answer any other questions.

Okay, thanks. I do have a restricted rifle but do not have an ATT. I'll call the Ontario CFO office.
