Hello everybody! I just found this auction today on GUNBROKER.COM and it looks to be very similar to a rifle I own. It has the simplified receiver with no rails and the rear is flat and not rounded at the top. It's the first time I've seen this type up for sale and I thought others on here might be interested too.

Yarmouth: It's interesting what they're paying for them down there. There's also an "original sniper" (made in Izhevsk!!!) that's currently sitting around $1500.00. A few minutes ago a neat Finn short carbine conversion with original stamped matching bolt, etc went for only $1250. Some guy is asking $2500 for a Kovrov (Podolsk) but no takers. It seems a lot of the ones listed are re-furbs quite similar to what's coming in here right now.

Yeah, I liked that "original" Izhevsk sniper too. 1500 indicates so far buyers understand it's a fake but we will see the end of auction. Fake SVT carbine went for the price of regular finned SVT, so probably somebody bought himself bubba-carbine just for fun.

The US can't import Russian arms anymore, I think Clinton put the kiwash on that, so what they got they got. Sucks to be them.

I meant what cainesy told - it's US problem that they can't import most of Soviet and Russian guns. No matter from Canada or from Syria.

It's only semi-auto that can't be import in the US, no problem with bolt action. That's why is so hard to get Mosin M38, M44 here.

No, if the Americans could get them, the price wouldn't be as high - it's only high down there because they can't. IF they could, we'd definitely have less here and price in both countries would likely be around $400 - $500 I'd guess

Jeeze. $675, I paid less than that for my new AK with 10 magazines and 500 rounds of ammo.

How you like them prices? :nest:

I do miss my SVT-40 though.
