AUGs in canada black vs green barrel examples

Question on wether any black stey AUGs got imported with the 16 inch barrels, the original black are suppose to have 1 inch threads on barrel, ser # 905SA to 908SA. Examples seen show them with 20 inch barrels with full barrel threads like the green AUGs, Anyone have any info on this.

they were probably trying to find a loophole with the longer barrels to beat the prohib status. an importer who had hk93's for sale tried to extend the barrels with a perminent flash hider. didn't help.

At the time we were told the black AUGs were an LE overrun - when they became available, issuing full automatics to police wasn't as common, or as popular as it is now. Most ERT's here and in the US were actually running MP5 Semi Auto carbines.

There was a overlap on green AUGs and Black AUG serial numbers, assume this overlap was based on the newer A2s. In the states many are shortening the barrel and changing furniture but the serial numbers gave them away. Canadian laws im guessing required longer barrels to remain unrestricted. Has anyone seen the 16inch barrels.
