August 1st Automated Moose Draw Results!!!

Just got a call from our group leader.... WE GOT A BULL TAG. Of course we were guaranteed something as we were over the guaranteed group size.


Having said that, we had a bull tag last year and only saw cows :(
 
Woooohooo Adult tag for 21A...not sure what gender.

Archie126..I'm not sure what the scoop is on the cow tags. I'm not even sure what the other 2 members of our group got for gender...

When I called in to check my tag the lady voice said dial 2 for extra tag info. I listened to that option and theres a phone # and date, when you can get extra tags for different WMU's with 21A being listed as one. I'll have to call back and listen to it again.

Surplus tags maybe?


Speaking of which...our group of 4 guys drew 3 adult tags for our WMU...is there any way we could "bank" a tag for next year at all?

Just called and listened to it again it is surplas tags.

We have 8 guys going so I don't know how many we got yet but I'd like to put one in the bank for next year.

So you are allowed to bank tags for the next year? This would be great in our small parties case...


Do you mind if I asked where abouts in 21A you hunt?
 
I was drawn for an archery cow in WMU 24. Still waiting to hear from the others if we got a bull as well.

There is no such thing as banking tags for next year. All surplus tags are for this season and may be gotten by calling in after a certain date on a first come first served basis. In years past I've managed to get a couple myself.
 
I got a bull tag this year,:p as far as banking tags theres no such thing, we hunt in WMU 15b and a person in Pool A is almost guarenteed a tag and a 100% guarantee when applying as a group.
Surplus tags are hard to get, we tried a couple of times, the phone lines open up at 12 are busy from 1145 till dinner when the tags run out. If your archery hunting you have much more success at getting surplus tags, good luck.

I've never understood that surplus tag thing.... in my mind it would seem logical that there should be no surplus tags, and more successful pool 2 applications :confused:
