August Purchases

Nothing too special for me, just a 1942/46 mo marked 91/30 with many "textbook" refurb features, a 1943 91/30 in a laminate stock, a 1942 tula svt & last but not least a 1941 SA marked ishvesk svt.
Geoff, please leave some mausers for the rest of us.

Nice gun and good find!

I once subscribed to Access to Firearms, but soon discovered that it was worthless to anyone living east of Edmonton.

:D Yep seems like by the time it gets to us all the good stuff is gone. Like this '41 Portuguese. I called about it and the guy laughed and said a lot of people had already called. Congrats Geoff.

Not a gun, but an accessory.

There has been a guy out of Finland selling these Russian PN34, NV scopes. I saw one, and figured I would take a chance. So a few dollars later it showed up.

Absolutely new! Couldn't be any better shape. Comes with the numbered box, to the scope, some different reticule knobs (for different weapons), and other spare parts, including an English manual. Also has a spare daylight cover.
It's also been converted to use 2, AA batteries.
Inspection card says it was last checked in 1990.
These were obviously sitting on a shelf somewhere, until now, not touched.

I fired it up. Basically a little less of an image (not much less) than one can find with the AN/PVS 502. However for the cool/collector value, I thinks it's neat. Reticule image is perfect.

Notice in the pics it still has the original manufacture wrapping paper and grease on the mount and spare parts wrapped in the same paper.

As it came, via Canada Post.

And beside it's Canadian counterpart, and box.

And here beside the scope showing comparative size.

I'll do some cheesecake photos later with the AK/M70B1 vs. FNC1A1.

Did you get the SA SVT from Epps? Beat me buy a couple of hours!

Yes, it did indeed come from evil ellwoods. Not one serial matches on it but really nice shape overall. I didn't think the Finns refurbed their svt's but guess I was wrong.

Koldt which firearm did you use the NV scope on

Which NV scope are you referring? They're both night vision scopes.

I haven't mounted the Russian PN34 on anything yet. It is designed for a number of weapons, ie. AK, RPG, SVD, etc. Anything with the appropriate mount recepticle.

Same as the AN/PVS502, it had mounts for the FN, CarlG, 50 cal, TOW, etc.

Picked up around a dozen Cno7 chests today.

As a bonus, there were some trinkets left inside of them. One chest still had the Cno7 issue tag from Long Branch.

Some slings were nicely marked. There was one brit sling in the bunch, a couple air force blue slings, and a green sling. Three were ZL&T dated 42 and 43

There were a few of the old transit decals on some of the cases

A very clear marking on one of the chests with original paint and markings:

Not a milsurp at all, but definitely a handy accessory for working on them... got my new mill this month and after a buttload of work disassembling it, bringing it downstairs a casting at a time, re-assembling, leveling, anchoring to the floor, etc. it's finally making chips :)

And just because, a gratuitous shot of my lathe...
