Well that's typical of rimfire, isn't it? My NS 522 likes my 2nd case of Eley practice, but not the first case. It's been a bit of a grind shooting my way through it, as you can imagine. My Shultz and Larsen doesn't care, apparently. I got my brother one as well, his maybe shoots better. Maybe! A different trigger on it, just different.
We have continued shooting the first Sunday of the month.
A score of 297 - 21 X was recorded in December with his best target being 100 - 8X.
Today we are going to shoot some at 100 meters in Mission using the same target.
We will be shooting alongside the Small Bore Silhouette so will modify to comply with their timing.
Will see how it goes.
It was just around freezing and only two of us shot. 4 - 5 mph of wind from every direction.
My partner shot two 295's with a 100 on each of his two targets for score.
Me? I ain't talking!
Also sighted in my "new to me" CZ455 Varmint with a thumbhole laminated stock purchased from CGNer R700.
With a Burris 4.5-14 x 42, almost any 22 would compete following a bit of ammo research. I was using CCI MiniMags.
With the wind there were unpredicted flyers but no worse that my BSA with Midas Plus.
There is still lots to learn and may try 200 meters next.
We continue to meet and yesterday had 4 shooters.
A lady joined the group and shot a 100 on one of her targets.
The winner after three targets had a 890 - 45X beating me by 2 X's.
Getting 50% X's is quite an accomplishment.
That's some solid shooting! Temp here is almost up to 0, after wayyyy too many -20's, there hasn't been any shooting here except for the odd varmint control. Soon though!
This was the best of the three targets. Used Team, Match 1063 and this one Match with a 1062 velocity.
The Three targets scored 294 - 12X, 297 - 15X and this one 297 - 16X.
The TEAM and the Match 1063 had been measured for rim thickness.
For those who have not tried 100 yard BR it is amazing to see the bullet in flight and then disappear into a cluster of other shots . . . as opposed to seeing it land in the "9" ring.
