scraping the crap off a bucks skull
here is the Australian International Arms 7.62x51 that 303carbine recently puchased ,only around $900 or so to shoot well under an inch !!!......

I am curious...for $900, could one buy a surplus rifle and put some cash in it to shoot that well? The Aussie rifles always seemed to expensive for me.

They are what they are. I like them very much. You could spend your money infinite other ways and likely have a more accurate rifle. As for comparing them to milsurps, apples and oranges. That's enough beating the poor dead horse.
 
A fellow was shooting one at the BC Provincial F-Class Championships last year. I quite liked the look and feel of them... Something refreshingly different from the Ninja Remington and Savage rifles that are popular in those circles.

That is a nice looking rifle, and if it shoots, so much the better!

I understand Marstar will not be bringing more in once their inventory is gone....too bad.
 
The AIA rifles are fantastic. They shoot very well indeed and don't seem to be fussy about ammo. They are worth every penny, as they come with many extras.

I noticed you didn't have the cheek piece attached. I have attached one to mine. It came with the rifle. I find the scopes are quite high for comfortable shooting without the rest.

The B1 has a raised cheekpiece already,it works excellent as is. Everything I have put down the tube has shot under an inch so far. The 180 grain Nosler (damn) Partition has shown the best group so far.:sniper:
 
Yup, mine is the B1 as well, with a 3x9 shepherd. Shoots better than I can hold. I used the cheek piece on the raised comb as I have a short neck and it makes a lot of difference for me. A buddy of mine with another, doesn't like the cheek piece either, but he has a longer neck than I and is about 8 inches taller.

I'm glad you're enjoying the rifle so much. There was a bit of a discussion as to the safety and the esthetics of its purity etc. To bad, I for one am glad I have it.

The front sight is removeable and doesn't seem to make any difference to accuracy if it's there or not. (as long as your useing a scope anyway :))

12/15/08 I better clarify my above statement, I actually have the M10 B2 Match, it came with a case, extra mag, sight adjusting tool, scope base and cheek piece. Sorry for the misinformation. I should be a little more careful.

The AIA rifles are very expensive to produce because of all the innovations to the whole rifle.They are all hand tuned from the factory,I took mine apart to check it out and there is evidence of bedding tweaking.There is no bedding compound, but the wood has been honed to fit the rifle. The quality shows from the metal work to the oil finish teak stocks.The rifles are definitely "overdone" in the quality department which is a real different approach in the faster and cheaper is better world of today.

Huh? I thought that was just the B3 with the extra-thick chrome barrel that was no longer being made, going by marstar's pages.

I never even heard about them bringing in a new model, it's still 'available' on their website. Seems to me that if the B3 is limited production, no more of them being made / imported makes sense. As for the other models, hopefully johnone can chime in.

Not quite accurate, we will not be bringing in anymore of the B3 rifles.
Only a small number of the mini gun barrels became available but no more....
The cost of getting the very same barrel from the current manufacturer would be more than the retail price of the entire rifle.... Not to mention the fact that the US Government will NOT allow their export....

Yes we will continue importing the models that are available....

Yes there are some other models on the drawing board.... Stay tuned.

The B2 Match rifles have been on back order for some time from the factory.... Sorry

As for the B3 please see my explanation to "FAT TONY"....

With regards to the 7.62x39 carbine, there were a few issues we wanted corrected, it is still scheduled for importation.
