Can someone tell me what I have to do to get a new Authorization to Transfer? My current one expires December 12. I am in Saskatoon. Thanks for your help.

Wade:)

Are you talking about an Authorization To Transport (ATT)? If so, just call your CFO and ask for one. My long term ATT from the BC CFO took literally minutes, faxed to my work.

Someone else will probably be alot more specefic, but you have to renew through your gun club.
Well, actually, no :D Call the CFC. Your club is not involved.

transfer or transport?
transfer is issued on a case by case basis... to transport call the firearms center. 5 year permit, cost you nothing.

Call 1-800-731-4000 and follow the prompts. Once you select the one for ATT (Authorization to Transport - what I assume you meant), it will redirect you to the Saskatchewan CFO. All you need to do is provide all the required information and they will send you out a new ATT. The ATT is good to maximum of 5 years, or whenever your PAL expires, whichever comes first. It takes a matter of minutes and they will send you the new ATT in the mail. Very fast and easy process.

I hope this helps.:)

Don't forget to make it super general.
You want an ATT for any restricted or 12(6) prohibited firearm that you have the registartion certs for (not just the ones you own), also have it valid for any range in Canada, and border crossings, and to any gunsmith or courier. I think that about covers it. And ask for 5 years, you never know, it might fly.
