Auto 5 and steel shot

Took my 1971 Belgium auto 5 too gun smith and had barrel reamed to modified so I could shoot steel shot. This is what smith recommended and has done too many auto 5s. Third shot I put thru it saw a few sparks come out barrel, my friends seen it too. I shot a few more shells and no sparks , inspected barrel and no visible bulges, or marks inside, anyone have this problem?

I saw a ton of sparks come out of my buddy's Mossberg 835 yesterday using Remington Hypersonics. I wouldn't really worry about it. It is steel on steel remember. Something is definitely going to spark at some time.

Depending on how close to dawn or dusk it was its not uncommon to see muzzle flash when shooting .

Not related to your gun or to steel shot, just something that happens not very often.

Inside bore has no marks so I'm not too worried, I joked it was a tracer round too my buddies lol

Not a worry at all...happens all the time, you just don't see it often. You'll usually see the bulge nearer the chamber if an A-5 barrel is bulging. I fired Kent Fastseel through my Belgian humpback for years and never had a hitch. Best goddamned semi ever built, IMHO.
