Auto bolt release 10/22 question

I've read the mod forum on the auto release. I rounded the hole but the bolt still won't release. Do I take more and more off (rounding the hole) till when I pull the bolt back, the release drops?

Pictures? I did mine and hardly had to remove any material beyond the little nib to get it to work properly. Make sure your springs are in correctly, the PO of my 10/22 had one in wrong and it was hanging up the bolt release and not letting it function properly.

I didn't need to remove a lot from mine when I did it either.

Did you read through this?
Probably more than you need but there are pictures showing exactly what the plate should and should not look like starting about 1/3 the way through.

Thank you sooo much. Mine looks like the one with the huge hole! Crap, need to jb wield. Or buy a new bolt release!

Good, easy fix then. I wouldn't bother with JB weld to avoid potential problems down the road.

At this point just buy an auto bolt release for 5 or 10 bucks and be done with.
