Where do Auto Ordnance 1911's sit in the 1911 quality continuum? I have seen a few in the EE and thought they might make be a decent choice for a mid-range model. Any comments/experiences on how the AO 10mm models are, compared to the Delta Elite Colts or other 1911 brands in 10mm would be a bonus.

Thanks,
Mark

Auto Ordnance had general quality control issues with their 1911A1 pistols in the days before Kahr Arms owned them. Since then, the quality of the 1911A1's has improved remarkably.

The new GI model is a decent entry level GI style 1911A1 pistol for the money. Those that have them generally are pleased with them. One departure from the real deal USGI 1911A1 .45ACP pistols they are meant to imitate however is the Auto Ord GI model has a firing pin safety in it, which the originals did not.

I have no experience with any in 10mm so I will reserve comment on that question.

Personally, I would take the Auto Ord GI model over the Para GI model.

NAA.

I think those 10mms will be there for quite a while even with a price reduction. All you have to do is look up reviews on the company. They aren't #### but like NAA said there are QC issues.

From all I have read, the new Auto Ordnance, since Kahr's takeover, indicate the quality is quite good. Still looking to shoot one for myself though. You can gain a better perspective by visiting some of the 1911 forums.
