Autoloading Lifter

Can't watch the video where I am right now, but found that the stock VersaMax lifter did an excellent job of closing behind your thumb the moment the loaded shell clicked in place. The almost "V" notch made sure it hurt, and fit my thumbnail perfectly. lol When I took my VersaMax to Tactical Ordnance in Bradford, ON...I asked Casey about that, he offers a replacement that doesn't do that. I don't know enough about what might/might not be compatible for the VersaMax...but offered by other manufacturers...BUT...the replacement works as it should, and it was fairly priced.

The auto load lifter is a totally different thing than the extended Tacord lifter. The AL lifter is just that in that it strips the last round that is inserted in the mag tube after your thumb or finger is out of the way and is cycled into the action and the bolt automatically closes. It is designed to be used when the bolt gets locked back after the last shot, so instead of dropping one on the lifter and hitting the bolt release, you just start inserting them into the mag tube (with the bolt locked back) and it does it automatically. The lengthened ones from Tacord are thumbnail savers and do not auto feed the bolt.

J Kenny is doing trigger kits now too it seems.

I have run their autoloading kit for a while now and found that magazine spring tension is crucial for these.

When I first installed it I found that the first shell would hit the end of the lifter and jam. I played around with spring tension (trimmed it) so the round was coming out less forceful / slower and this allowed the lifter more time to get out of the way.

It has ran like a champ since.
