I haven't bought a pistol yet. I wouldn't mind picking up a g20 but im wondering if its a pain to find 10mm ammo. If it is then how about the other calibres such as .45, .40, or even 9mm.

I agree with Caydel... You should check out the site sponsors and that will get you a sense of what is available. To give you my opinion.. 9 mm is easy to come by.. with S&W40 and 45 ACP come in behind 9 mm luger.... But 10mm is a pain..I Had an Dumb @ss gun clerk at Cabalas in Winnipeg tell me that they dont sell 10 mm hand guns so they will never sell 10 mm handgun ammo.. At the time I was looking for projectiles for my S&W 40 Tanfoglio limited custom to reload. I said to him do you have any 0.40 cal S&W projectiles or 10 mm because they are the same.. and that is the response i got from him.. I dont know why they hire these dummies to work behind the counter if they dont really even understand the first thing about guns and reloading..
There is a hell of a lot of calibers I would love to shoot but I stick with 9mm and 357/38. The 9mm is easily accessible + doesn’t break the bank. The 357 is for days where you want to shoot big and if you don’t want to shoot big then you can just buy 38 special. Revolvers chambered in 357 shoot 357 obviously and 38 special. (It doesn’t work the other way around 38 doesn’t shoot 357). These calibers are widely available at your local firearm shop. In town for me 9mm box is 14-23$ depending on brand. 38 special is 16-23$ depending on brand. I dont even bother buying 357 I just like to plink away lol.
I have never even considered a 10mm I know little to nothing about it but why by something 10mm when you have 9mm and lots of it available. If I were going to pick something else than 9mm I would go 45 acp and get a nice 1911 style pistol. I Love my 9mm though (glock) I want to get another with olive green furniture.
