Avoid moly coated bullets?

The bullets from Berger and Norma are something else again. The coating they put on does not come off unless the bullets are tumbled in pin media, which isn't good for the bullet.

I've found that the SS pins in a RCBS Sidewinder is the fastest and best way to remove any bullet coating (I've been using moly & hBn for @20+ years) - the Thumler tumbler does mushroom the tips.

They ended up shooting really well. 168gr SMK 308. I found that with anywhere from 42.5 to 44 grains of Varget they grouped under 1/2" at 100 yards. Group started to open up a bit at 44.5 and then got real bad at 45 and then started to settle down again at 46, but not as good at the lighter loads.
