Well guess what I say at the Vankleek hill gunshow ;)

A Bubbaed AVS 36 :( and it was registered as a SVT 38 lol
I though it might of been a SVT38 and it was $700 so I passed, But when I got home I check the internet and it was a AVS 36 forsure 100% :(
"still not worth $700 with the stock bubba and the muzzle brake cut off"

Just sad :(

I could of maybe got my Prohid out of it too lol. Wonder if you could get it registered from a SVT38 to a AVS and get your Prohid?

Kicking my self now

no you could not

when you tried to register it they would have said oh its prohibited and you would have to a turn it in or they would send the cops to you not sure which

but you would lose it

I saw Dennis who organizes the gun shows in Southwestern Ontario had a bubba'd AVS-36 improperly registered (by the government!) as an SVT-38.

I told him about the mixup. Perhaps he's had it fixed.

According to DN Bolotin (Russian author of a great many small arms books), the sniper model of the AVS was built as a semi only. Although an FRT # presently does not exist it does not mean that the rifle actually does not. This I know as I once owned one with the sniper rail. It now resides in the collection of one of my friends registered as a C/A as that was the only type our system recognised.

I detail stripped the rifle many times when I owned it and could not see where any selector or F/A specific parts were modified.
