I had a squib and was banging the bullet out of the barrel of my 686 Smith and Wesson and the cylinder assembly fell out. How do I reseat the cylinder assembly? I checked the internet without any luck. I do not want to force anything unless that is what you need to do. Any advice would really be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

There is a small screw on the righthand side just below the cylinder and right behind the MADE IN USA stamp. When that screw is removed the entire cylinder assembly will slide out. It should not have fallen out by itself unless that screw is about to fallout as well. Check it. The cylinder assembly should slide into the frame quite easily and then you put that screw in and tighten it up.

BTW, if you do get another sqib, remove the cyinder assembly before you go smacking your brass rod or what ever you use to get the bullet out. Its very VERY easy to bend the crane. This is the part that the cylinder swings in and out with. Once bent, it is very hard to repair.
