Check out my buddies new product that he just launched today. Perfect if your out with your kids on the hill skiing or snowboarding, or out in the back country hunting with buddies. This technology revolutionizes the walkie talkie. Talk instantly, control your music, and pick up calls without taking off your gloves or losing your vocal cords.

"On the trail or off the beaten path, AWIRE provides quick, simple and reliable communication. We’ve taken traditional two-way radio and combined it with modern smartphone technology."

Looked through the site, I actually think its a pretty usable technology all the best to him, If i am ever in the market for something like this I'll give it a try.

you charge by USB cord

So then yes, non-removable battery?

And to change radio frequencies you need a smart phone?

So i need not one but two usb chargers...

It looks like a good idea for the obvious intended market, snowboarders. It lacks the features I would want while hunting though...

If you get lost, and the battery dies, then your without a radio. Fine for the ski hill. Not so fine for the bush 25 miles from the nearest house...

If going in the bush with one could pack a auxiliary battery pack.

Its frs even with a full battery you are not talking 25miles.

I absolutely hate ear pieces especially when hunting. I'd rather listen to the world around me than have that stuck in my ear.
