Good gun, great thick cover grouse gun.
Unfortunately, 25 inch barrels are very much out of favour.
A good friend carried one, as new condition, to many Western gun shows over 3 or 4 years. It was not attracting offers on $2k asking price.
And remember I said, as new.
A sad reflection of low market demand.

As Saskbooknut says, good gun in the wrong place at the wrong time. AYA has always made good guns and this is one but....
Overall market for side by sides is very soft
Short barrels are currently not popular
Fixed chokes are the kiss of death to many now
Double triggers? About as popular as fixed chokes
Spanish guns in general have acquired a very poor reputation, they are very hard to sell because of this.
Yes, I know a new one like this is well over $5000 now, but nobody in this country is buying them. There are quite a few of these AYA XXV's floating around, they turn up quite often at the gun shows I attend and the vendor usually takes them home. As a good gun it should be worth $2000 but today I think it would be difficult to achieve $1500, maybe not even $1000.

This is not a $1000 gun but more like a 1000£ gun. You'll get that across the pond but as everyone have pointed out, Canada has a soft market for sxs. Perhaps when BlackFace finish banning everything else...

If this was a 20 gauge it would sell easily at $1500 - it ain't. To sell, this gun needs to compete against a brand new $1000 CZ, Churchill or Huglu, all of which come with longer barrels, removable choke tubes, single trigger, a warrantee with off the shelf parts backup. No contest. Over the years I have had quite a few Spanish side by sides of various makes and different grades from low to high. They are very attractive in their price range, great to hunt with, often very reasonable in price, easy to buy. Very difficult to sell, I have taken a serious beating on every one I've owned. I would buy this gun if I was looking for a nice gun in this configuration and gauge to hunt with but I certainly wouldn't tie more money up in it than I thought that I could easily recover. My 2c.

A beautiful game gun for snap-shooting, nice metal work, good wood-to-metal finish, well-executed decoration, all from a respected maker... a real shame such qualities are not valued these days. Sorry, just thinking aloud...

I agree with this as i just bought another new huglu sxs

I like SxSs and sold my CZ ringneck. I think this is a much nicer gun. Like all shotguns, how it fits me is the concern. (That was the problem with the CZ). The short barrels are a negative but if it handled well and patterned well it would be worth keeping. My feelings is it’s a $1500 gun that will sell foe a grand.

To compare this gun to a CZ/Huglu is not a reasonable comparison. The AyA is considerably more refined, just not in fashion.
I have always felt that the Huglu guns are lacking in handling and weight distribution when compared to older, better guns. The barrel thickness required to have choke tubes has a negative effect.
If short barrels work for you, this AyA offers a lot of value for dollar, because it has low demand.
Choke tubes are overrated. I could easily live with a IC/Mod choked gun.

I can't comment on the Turk guns because no 1st hand experience but otherwise agree with all the above. Most people get a gun with tubes and for hunting they put in IC and IMod tubes and never change them out again. That AyA is available new but is going to cost you $9000.

I had one of these for several years. Very light and easy to carry in the field all day. Learned to avoid hi power loads because the recoil could be brutal, head rattling. Traded it because I couldn't get used to double triggers.
