I am trying to see if any of you would know what the value and age is of a Miroku shotgun be. The Blue Book of Gun Values say to look at other models to give and idea of value and age, but non of the others look like this shotgun. I currently know that mine was made before B.C. Miroku manufactured shotguns for other companys which is rare as per what is stated in the Blue Book.To give more details of mine it has what is called a type 4 reciever, as found on http://www.wisnersinc.com/additionalinfo/Mirokusprings.html
It is a 12ga O/U with serial number 607463, and has a polished finish reciever with large amounts of engraving. It has a ported 30" barrel and is fixed full/full. If any one has knowledge of these shotguns or Charles Daly shotguns which is the next closest match give me your guess of what mine might match. I can forward photo for a close look to help in what this shotgun might cross over too. other web pages that you might have information are also welcome.

I have a Miroku 800 trap o/u, Full & Mod, lovely gun. Same action as the Browning 325, 425, 525, etc. I'm curious to know more as well.

It's always worth taking with a grain of salt anything written in America about guns not generally available there. While Miroku might be a foreign name to them it's well known in the rest of the world particularly the U.K.

As to what the gun in question is worth I'd say it would be on the same level as a similarly engraved Browning Citori with fixed chokes. All Browning Citoris are made by Miroku.

Many people in North America when they see or hear the name Miroku have never heard of them or think junk make in Japon. But there quality has come a long was and many might be surprised with what they have in there safe at home is made by them. See the attached link both Browning and Wincherster shotguns and rifles are made by them.
