B.P.C.R. Barrels

You won't find any in Canada....I approached 2 well known Canadian barrel makers and they seemed indignant that I would want them to waste teir time making a good BPCR barrel.....I have tried most of the good U.S. Makers, Douglas, Green Mountain, Badger, Krieger, etc. and the best by far is Badger!! Get some gunsmith or dealer to order you one..if the gunsmithing is up to par you won't regret it!!! Douglas are good and can be ordered deep chambered, which will save lots on gunsmithing! Check out M.T. Chambers for all your BPCR requirements, info is free!

Cdnrokon, what do you think I'm doing. I won that expensive front sight at the last shoot , almost worked out a deal on Al's midrange when Sergio gets him the long range and that leaves turning the Alexander Henry into a steel chicken blaster. I hate guns, they cost me so much money.
Ben thanks for the help, I won't waste my time going that route.....Bob

Ron Smith builds BPCR barrels and some of his have won the big one at Raton.
His number escapes me at the moment, but he is mentioned many times in the gunsmithing forum.
I have 5 of his barrels and highly recommend him
I also have a badger barreled Ruger No.1 in 45/70 which is a good one.

I'm in the process of making up a BPCR on a Ruger No. 1, using a Smith .45 barrel which I chambered to .45-70. Haven't finished the forearm yet, so I've yet to shoot the rifle, but the barrel certainly looks great, and Ron's barrels are well thought of.

are ruger single shot actions allowed in bpcr , i thought they had to have a exposed hammer,

Rugers are not allowed , because they have no exposed hammer, and are not a copy of an original design.
Myself, I thhink it is BS, because they sort of copy the Farquarson action.

I ordered a barrel blank from Ron Smith last week. >
.375 cal. with gain twist rifling. Price delivered $318 and delivery promised for early 2007. Hope it is as good as the last three from him.
