B+T APC308 Rifles Now Available!

Just received my preorder yesterday and when opening up the case to inspect the rifle, I was disappointed to find that the gas piston & rod were not connected to the gas regulator, the piston itself was rolling around freely inside the handguard area - has anyone else experienced this with their preorder and is it normal/to be expected? I'm hoping i don't have to break down the whole rifle to reinstall these components but can do it by removing the gas regulator to access the rod. Any advice/comments would be welcomed.

^^That is really unfortunate and you deserve an appropriate response.
Recently, I purchased a Troy PAR and the magazine was bouncing around inside the box, the rifle had a dozen or so "rub" marks as the cardboard wasn't holding it securely.
I reached out to the vendor and they said it was shipped directly from the distributer that way.
They admitted that their sample also displayed similar marks - would have been appropriate to let potential buyers aware of this little fact / possibility.
I asked for a modest discount for my next purchase and I am awaiting a reply.
Well, it appears there is less care and attention with some dealers / distributers / manufacturers - unfortunately.
Now, at the price point of your rifle, this is really unreasonable and I hope you get fairly compensated.
Cheers,
Pic.

I just paid the same amount for a car. My advice is to contact the retailer and get some answers. I'd like to know what makes this a nearly $6000 rifle...

At this price, I don't think it's worth it.

Are they saying that the rifle was shipped directly to you from the distributor? How would the reference number be obtained from the CFP? If it came from the store they would have to open the box to verify and record the serial number. At which point they should have noticed any irregularities, loose parts, mags , etc.

It was shipped directly from the retailer to me. The retailer provided to me with a link to the distributor, Wolverine Supplies, where I've entered a claim/description of the problem and am now waiting for them to reply (it could take up to three business days for a reply from them, according to their website).
