Does anyone have experience with the Bruger & Thomet handguards for the VZ-58. Was thinking about trying it out.Any advice?

Like any B&T PRoduct; they're well made and expensive. I've owned a half-dozen different B&T mounts, and they've all never failed to perform. However they're terribly overpriced.

What is it you're looking for your front end to accomplish? I can bet that you can get there without breaking the bank. If it's just the B&T you're sold on, go for it, you won't be dissapointed.

The only drawbacks personally for me.. price.

I want to mount a Eotech 512 and a bipod. I really like the NEA but cannot locate one here in US.All out of stock and no one is sure of when they will be available. So I found the B&T on line which wasn't easy and ordered it. I'm hoping it will be something I like but will have to wait and see.Searched the forums but can't find an example of anyone actually using it on the VZ. Here is the one ordered.http://www.brugger-thomet.ch/en/manufacturing/handguards/rifle.php?pid=344

The B&T is a very solid mount, used by Czech special forces and some other mil/LEO types. With the availability of good quality ammo in the US the cleaning issue is a non starter. You should only have to clean the gas system every few thousand rounds when not using surplus ammo.

The B&T unit bolts together so if you take it apart you can have return to zero issues. Nothing significant, certainly not significant enough for the Czech SF guys to care.

Thanks for all the input. This will be my 1'st vz-58. High Cap.Sporter model. As far as what i've read about removing the front handguards and installing new the difficulty factor seems to run the gamut. Any advice on how to without destroying the paint and avoiding a headache. I'm sure this is a old worn out subject but any advice is appreciated.

They will be available via Troy Industries in the U.S in the next couple weeks, well worth the wait considering for the price you can have two Troy/NEA sets or one B&T set. We expect to start running their production batches this coming week.

I can wait 2 weeks for those prices. Right now the nea upper & lower is selling for $483.00 Canadian. The upper alone in the US "thats me" is $168.00. Is there going to be that much of a price decrease? Also how do I order a set and when?
