Gents,

I am wanting to purchase my first PCP and I am struggling to decide on which one of the two I want more. So far I do prefer the B50 as far as looks go, but the low fill pressure seems to give the Disco an edge if I was to top off with the hand pump. Im not sure if this really matters as I live on Vancouver Island and dive shops are everywhere.
So, if anyone has any suggestions that would be great! It will be a PAL rated version ( if that matters) and I will be using it for paper punching/plinking only. It may see the odd hunting session, but not likely. I am an avid shooter and have experience with magnum springers, but mostly I have been into powder burners the last few years.

Thanks for any/all suggestions!

My experience is with the Disco. I don't have one, but had the opportunity to try one. It looked much better than any advertising photos I have seen, and was very accurate.

I have a Disco, and for me the hand-pump option was the deciding factor in trying PCP at all. I have zero interest in dragging air tanks into town to fill them, and even less interest in buying a compressor to do it myself. The gun is accurate, and the plastic "barrel-band" that connects the barrel and air tube can be slid back and forth and (for me, at least) acts like a poor-man's harmonic balancer, helping you to tune your gun. My biggest complaint is that my pudgy sausage-like fingers have a hard time inserting a pellet into the port with a scope mounted in the typical location. I wound up using a cantilevered Chinese-made one-piece mount together with a long-eye-relief scope so that the loading gate was unobstructed...much better. This forced me to use a strap-on stock pad to raise my comb for a proper cheek-weld. I know, it sounds goofy...believe me, it looks worse! Bu it shoots very well, and I have very little money into it.

I too am thinking about getting into PCP and after researching have decided the Discovery is the one I would go with when the time comes, trying to decide on .22 or .25 but will probably go with .22. Check out Crosmods.com, some interesting things there, also Crosman is coming out with a new style pump 'Turbo' (hasn't been released yet) that may make handpumping easier than the current ones available, including Hill.
