Baby Desert Eagle 9mm

I suspect that the "downloaded" requirement is for magnum rounds fired from revolvers or other big boomers. Besides the ONLY way to reduce load for 9mm is to reload your own. And there just are not a lot of folks that do that which shoot 9mm on an occasional basis. So just show up with regular factory 9mm and it should be fine as long as there isn't any other odd rules such as non toxic or no jacketed or whatever.

If the range has a steel backstop or shoots at steel targets then do avoid buying the MFS ammo which is being sold a lot around here these days. It's cheap and shoots fine. But the bullet jackets are a copper washed mild steel. And steel in bullets shot at steel targets or backstop is not a wise thing to do. It's hard on the targets or backstop and it increases the risk of bounce back.

Even 9mm have to be downloaded. The club has rounds you can buy or you can reload your own and have to crony the loads. Im planning on buying a membership to other clubs but this one is a 5 min drive vs. a 45 min drive.
Will these downloaded rounds have any effect on the function of this particular gun?

Cheers!!

It depends on how weak of a load. Buy some rounds try them. If it wont consistently cycle the slide and lock back on the last round, install a lower weight recoil spring and you will be good to go.

This one is in .40 with Trijicon night sights installed and custom grips. I had some trouble with the original mags (they would slightly deform at the top rear edge) so they were replaced with CZ magazines which work flawlessly. I have heard of others with similar mag problems, but only in earlier models and only in .40.

The pistol is as reliable as they come so long as you use jacketed bullets. I love the little bump at the bottom of the grip which fits my hand better than the CZ75/85. The weight and the grip contribute to easy, accurate shooting and you quickly come to trust this pistol.

I have one in 9mm. I have big hands and I love the size, feel, weight, recoil, everything. It is a tough, durable gun that is a pleasure to shoot. It is simple and no frills, but it just simply works no matter how I treat it.

When I was in Jerusalem recently I saw the Israeli Border Police carrying them, and by the scratches and dirt on them I'd say they've been out of the holster a few times. If it's good enough for them, surely it is good enough for me too.

[Pls remove]And yes, the Jericho is the same gun. The Baby Eagle name is tied in with Magnum Research that used to distribute the IWI products. But since someone else is doing so it reverted to the 941/Jericho name.[/QUOTE]

So just to clairfy, they only say Jericho on them now? I'm looking into getting a 9mm and just wanted to see if you could still get them saying desert eagle on them.

Just wanted to say thanks to the guys who posted their thoughts on them. Very likely to be my first pistol. A club member offered to let me shoot his and the extra weight vs 1911's (9mm and .22), or anything composite, was much more enjoyable. Less snap, more push. I like.
