Hi Guys,

I am starting to like this pistol, and thinking about it as a Xmas gift to myself.
It's the Baby Desert Eagle III, 9 mm - barrel 4.43" - polymer frame.

I see that a couple of Canadian gun dealers have the Baby Desert Eagle II in stock.
Can someone explain what are the main differences between the Baby Desert Eagle II and the Baby Desert Eagle III ?
I have looked around but did not find much about it. This is the reason why I ask this here.
Before buying, I like to be well informed.

Never took a BDE in my hand, but the molded polymer grip seems well designed and confortable. Because of this, the polymer model appeals to me better than the steel model, matter of looks.

From what I have read around, it seems to be a good quality firearm.

But, I would appreciate your comments and advices about that pistol ?
Is it a good price quality ratio ?
I always like to get a second opinion, other than a YT vid and a salesperson.

Use: Only target plinking fun at the range. Nothing else, no competition.
I know some of you might suggest a CZ SP-01 Shadow instead, but there are a lots of them around. For now, I am looking at something a bit different than a CZ. I know, I know, polymer and steel don't compare at all... But for now, I can live with "plastic". Although someday I will get a Shadow. Love thoses guns.

One other thing:
Do Magnum Research has a service centre in Canada ?

Thanks.

DO you mind sharing those gun dealers as I have had no luck finding any that sell this gun. I too am interested in the same gun, except the steel model.

I really wanted to drink the baby eagle kool-aid but upon handling them found that they have very little purchase on the slide to rack the slide. You basically have the rear cooking serrations and that is it. The rest of the slide is scalloped and you can't grab it. To me that turned me off.

I've got the older Jericho 941 in a steel frame. They're great guns. The grip on the slide is small, but you get used to it. It's one of my favorite guns. I've got around 7.8K rounds though it and it's still more accurate then I am.
Just before I bought it, I handled the polymer ones. Back then they looked a little worse then they do now. I couldn't stand the look/feel of them. But as soon as I handled the steel frame, it just fit. I love it.

Never selling this pistol. :)

The Baby eagle II and III are made by different companies FYI

The BE II is made by IWI Israel and BE III is made by BUL in Israel, MRI is just the distributor of both products.

Canadian Jericho polymer pistols are the same as the MRI BE II.

Not sure who still sells baby eagles but as far as I know the latest ones by IWI are called Jericho 941s. I got mine a couple months ago. Have only put around 250 rounds through it so far as I'm a member of an outdoor range and it's too damn cold right now.
First impressions are I LOVE IT.
Racking the slide is no big deal. You only really need to do it once and then just keep feeding the mags with the slide release to load the next cartridge. I have the full steel one and it's not that heavy. Probably more accurate than the polymer.
Check out some YouTube videos on how the Israelis carry and rack the slide when u holstering. Like anything else it comes with practice.
For me it was between that and a CZ sp01. Chose the ajericho mostly due to $$ difference. Plus it looks badass
