Baby Dragoon Noob question

just picked one up at the latest gunshow, this is my first BP firearm and was wondering what size cap it would take? The guy at the show told me it took small pistol primers, but the more i research the more i think he is wrong. Its a .31 cal lead ball, which he also told me was easy to find :confused:..... From what ive found online it seems like i should be able to use 0 buck and 00 buck lead shot and it will be fine. If i could get some professional opinions on the matter i would really appreciate it,

"O" buck will be OK as it is .32 diameter. "OO" buck is .33 diameter so might be hard to load.

It definitely won't take small pistol primers! You need either #10 or #11 percussion caps depending on the size of the nipples. If you can't find #10 caps you can use #11's - you'll just have to pinch them on so they don't fall off.

Here is a picture of my Baby Dragoon with Remington #11 caps,as mentioned if the caps are a bit too big you can pinch them into an oval shape and they will stick on the nipples.

X3 to the Number #11 caps

Also .31 cal hornady balls would be easy enough to get. Also have a look at track of the wolf they have lots of bp stuff and would have everything you need for flasks accesories excetera!

Powder and caps will have to be had here
