Does anyone know of a source for Baby Eagle 9mm mags that don't cost an arm and a leg? They sell for $9.99 in the US (genuine OEM 10-rounders), but are around $65 here in Canada from what I've seen locally.
BTW - You may have made a convert with the Valster and your Baby Eagle. She plans to give the Norc one more try to make her happy, then will be sending it on it's merry way to make new friends!
Glad to be of service.
I was VERY impressed with the Baby Eagle. I don't particularly care for DA or TDA pistols, but I must say that my BE is the best that I've tried so far and is a keeper.
CDNN Sports sell genuine factory Magnum Research Baby Eagle mags for $9.99
They are out of stock right now (but are getting more in) and don't ship to Canada. http://cdnn.powerfulhosting.com/prod.itml/icOid/466
I just bought 3 baby eagle clips from gunclips@comcast.net. They are made by Promag and seem like a good product. Quality seems equal to factory clip. for 3 clips I paid $50.85 US and $15.00shipping for a total of $65.85 US which is $80.60 Cdn. and they arrived in less than a week!
I have tried Promags in the past and don't care for them....however I do understand that their quality has improved greatly. "gunclips" offers 3 options of Baby Eagle mags....el cheapo's (prolly those crappy USA mags) for 9.99, Promags for about $15 or genuine Factory mags for $19....I ordered the factory mags.
Hmmm... There are a lot of unbelievably good prices around "but we're out of stock"
In my experience:
1. Promags are not good quality. You really do get what you pay for. USA mags are worse.
2. Most reputable dealers sell the real Baby Eagle mags for $50 (I do)
3. There are real bargains on some 10 round mags in the US because if you lived there would you want one??? Careful shopping MAY pay off.
4. Be careful with Ebay. Mags may not be the ones they say they are, and returning stuff is a nightmare.
FWIW, I bought two of the 'factory' mags for my Baby Eagle from Gunclips and they are not the same/identical as what comes with the pistol. The packaging states that they are IMI Baby Eagle factory mags and I believe that they are authentic but I wound up buying another 'real' spare magazine from Royal Sportsman (50 bucks) because the ones from Gunclips didn't lock the slide open on my BE consistently after the last round. The magazine follower is a tad different. I will say they are easier to load than the real ones (single stack configuration wheras the one that came with the BE seems to be a chopped double stacker--I may be wrong on this) and works well enough (no failures to feed at all) if you can get past the slide not locking after the last round consistently.
