I am just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the difference between the ergos on the CZ 75 and the IWI Jericho. The CZ75 fits me like a glove but I love the look and heft of the Jericho. I am just wondering if anyone has both and if you can tell me if the ergos and grip thickness is similar between the two.

I have small hands so the slimmer the better.

The slight swell in the lower grip area of the IWI doesn't fit me quite as well as the CZ grip which simply fits my hands as if I'd molded it myself. I don't have the IWI but it was a toss up for me for getting the IWI or a Beretta 92 for my first gun.

Then someone let me shoot their IPSC tuned CZ Shadow and it was all over.....

I since got myself an older pre "b" model 75. I've shot other guns as well but the CZ's and I are the right match for me.

The big problem with the IWI is the relative difficulty in finding mags and holsters if you want to shoot the gun in competition. CZ mags DO FIT but they don't feed correctly. So if you're a gambling sort and you get the IWI anyway you should be able to get a CZ mag to work if you can compare how the two hold the top round relative to the frame. It's not hard to strip off the top and then lock the mags in place and measure the height and angle of the top bullet. Then simply tweak the CZ mag lips until it holds the bullet in the same position. Or file away the bit of metal that prevents the slide closing. I don't recall what the issue was but it's a small one. That leaves you only with an issue of finding holsters for the IWI.

For myself I prefer the slightly lighter front of the plain 75. But if you like the mass of that full dust cover on the IWI then the CZ equivalent would be the SP-01 model or the full Shadow. A fair amount more money for sure. But after spending the money for a few thousand rounds of ammo it won't seem like it was a big deal.

I am really not too concerned about the parts availability. I am 100% concerned about the ergos, this would just be a plinker and maybe I would use it in IDPA in the future but I will cross that bridge when I get there.

If the grip is as slim as the CZ75 and has a similar shape and angle then I will be fine with the Jericho. The Jericho also looks badass!

I've got both and the Jericho is a little thicker with Hogue grips. I'm not picky on the ergonomics but I hold one or the other I don't notice enough difference to be 'wow whats different about this one'.
As far as holster, since I've only had the Jericho for 2 weeks, I have little work to do but the holster I use is off a tactical vest that I got for paintball. I'll post a pic later, but it basicly like a sheet of paper folded in half with a snap under the trigger guard to keep the gun in place and the holster together. I've modified it several times to first get my Buckmarks to fit then the CZ and then into a leg rig instead of hip.

It's simply NOT the same grip. That little bulge in the lower area fits me very slightly less well than my CZ's.

Having said this I tried something like a dozen different handguns at the rental range when I started out. As I said before the IWI BE or 941 and the Beretta 92 were tied on my list for #1. So that makes them "only" #2 with the CZ being #1 due to that last minute opportunity.

If you have handled a CZ and felt that it fit really well then the IWI will be so close that the difference would only be felt if you had both in front of you and switched back and forth.

I have to admit that I do like the look of the Jericho. The sleek "monoblock" look with no silly lower rails is certainly badass. And legions of Jericho/Baby Eagle/941 owners will confirm this. It is a superb gun which will do very nicely for you for the IDPA event.

And as nice as the blued versions look the bead blasted stainless or hard chrome version they have is AMAZING. It would be a little more money but the BLING! factor would be worth it.... :D

Having a CZ and trying out a Jericho, now this is only my opinion, but the CZ feels like another appendage. It is outstanding. On the other hand, the Jericho didn't feel as natural. Nice little piece, but the baby eagle was a far second to the CZ in my case...just remember, it will differ between shooters!

If you like the CZ-75b, try getting your hands on a CZ-75 SP-01 Shadow. More weight in the front (like the Jericho) because of the rail.

Same ergonomics as the Jeri, it feels good in the hand too. But as much as I like the Jericho, it has a more "blocky" feel to the grip.

And the CZ's "glove-like" grip, reputation, & lighter weight pulled me to the Czech side. That's why I bought a Shadow just yesterday...

:D

I had been shooting both for more than 5 years , also in IPSC production class . to me the baby eagle 9mm ,must on a Hogue grips with finger groves in rapid shooting ,inorder to keep the gun in right position with my hand . The cz 75 is lighter and easier to control, but I baby eagle had a longer dust cover so the felt recoil is favourable . I still take the baby eagle as a very good gun in aimed shooting .
