Tried out one of Insite's .750 profile heathen brakes on my 308 ar today.
I was previously running a surefire, and a lantac.
Rather boner inducing results, 155 grain loads felt like the 110 grain loads used to. No more perceived blast than the lantac, and perhaps less blast than the surefire. I expected a little better performance due to the angled baffles, but the difference is quite substantial.
With my 110 grain loads now, fast, accurate pairs and triples are easy. With the lantac/surefire I had to have a really solid body position to be at all clean with them.
A .223 ar with no brake has significantly more recoil and muzzle rise than this 308. Hell, I'd say it keeps sights on target better than my old .223 acr with a surefire brake did !
Someone should try one on a .223, I'd be curious to see how my experience with the 30 caliber version translates.
